Chief of Staff

Deb Grays serves as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Cyberspace Solarium Commission. She most recently served as the Senior Communication and Strategy Analyst, U.S.A. Vietnam War Commemoration, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). In this position she served as the principal communications advisor to the Director for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, and was responsible for managing and coordinating the national voice for outreach and engagement. Deb served for 30 years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer, retiring as a Colonel in 2014. During her tenure, she commanded at the Company, Battalion and Brigade Level; Selected by Chief of Staff of the Army as lead planner for a Special Project with the Director of Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Officer Leader Development Study Group; Served in USFOR-A, Kabul Afghanistan, as Chief, Base Realignment and Closure/Transfer Division, whereby she led a team that developed and implemented guidance for the realignment and closure of over 700 Strategic, Operational and Tactical Bases across the Combined Joint Force Area of Afghanistan. Deb achieved her master’s degree in National Resource Strategy, at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), 2006, with special emphasis on material acquisition, joint strategic logistics, and their integration into national security. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL.
